OPP investigate three crashes involving impaired driving

Between last Friday and Sunday, the Ontario Provincial Police investigated three separate collisions involving impaired driving.

Police remind the public an impaired driving charge automatically means an immediate 90-day driver's license suspension. The vehicle will also be towed and impounded for one week.

The first was just before 10 p.m. on Friday on Talbot Street West in Leamington, where two vehicles collided.

Officers arrested one driver. A 28-year-old Leamington woman faces two impaired driving charges involving alcohol and drugs.

The second crash involved one vehicle just before 6 p.m. Saturday on Riverside Drive in Tecumseh.

In that incident, police charged a 30-year-old Windsor man with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs and being behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol concentration over 80 mgs.

Then on Sunday night, officers were called to a second single-vehicle crash on St. Clair Road in Lakeshore.

Again, they discovered the driver was allegedly impaired and charged a 32-year-old Lakeshore man.

Police say each driver will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Anyone with information regarding the three incidents can call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a tip at www.catchcrooks.com.
