Windsor streets opening for active transportation

Windsor residents are invited to explore neighbourhoods throughout the city during the Open Streets festival Sunday.

Around 8 km of roads will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow pedestrians and cyclists to take over the streets. The route will go along Sandwich Street, Riverside Drive West, University Avenue, Wyandotte Street East, and Drouillard Road. A map can be found here.

Activity hubs will be set up along the route featuring local businesses, organizations, and service providers.

The goal of Open Streets Windsor is to encourage active transportation and physical activity while encouraging residents to engage with community-building activities.

Crossing points for vehicles can be found here.  Bus detours can be found here.
