Kingsville plans to commemorate the second annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation by showcasing the work of a local Indigenous artist.
The town will hang banners on street poles throughout September.
The federal government named September 30 the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation last year following the discovery of mass graves outside former residential schools across the country.
An estimated 300 sites contain the unmarked graves of children who attended residential schools.
The banners feature four designs, and councillors could approve them on Monday night.
Three designs represent First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people . A fourth design is for the children who never returned from residential school.
All four designs were drawn by Danny Dumont.
The town consulted Caldwell First Nation on the designs, along with the Government of Canada and the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre of Windsor.
