Tecumseh green-lights hybrid work policy for non-union employees

Tecumseh Town Council has approved a flexible work policy for its non-unionized staff.

Councillors received a report on a policy on Tuesday and approved it.

It allows those employees to work from home three days a week or five over two weeks.

It's a compromise for those who started working from home during the pandemic and found a new work-life balance.

For those who want more flexible hours, the policy allows them to make a request. Supervisors will weigh it along with business needs, the impact on the level of service, and how it impacts their colleagues.

More and more workplaces are adopting hybrid work policies, including the City of Windsor, which adopted similar flexibility last October with a plan to review it later this fall.
