Marchand running for Ward 4 seat

The former president of the Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce is having another go at municipal politics.

Matt Marchand has filed his nomination papers to run for Ward 4 Councillor in the City of Windsor.

During the 2018 election, Marchand ran for the mayor's seat against Drew Dilkens. Now the long-time resident of the Walkerville area is vying for the councillor's position.

"I've got a proven track record of policy success over the last 20 years at the highest levels of government both in the Windsor Essex area in local government and in business and I can bring that forward to the council table," said Marchand.

There is no incumbent running in the position as current Ward 4 Councillor Chris Holt is running for Mayor.

It has become a crowded race already with candidates Kristen Siapas, Patrick Sutherland, Edy Haddad, Jake Rondot, Giovanni "John" Abati, and Mark McKenzie.

The last day to file nomination papers is August 19, 2022. Election Day is October 24.
