Nominations sought for Queen's Jubilee pins

A Member of Parliament from Windsor-Essex is opening nominations for people deserving of a once-in-a-lifetime honour.

Windsor West MP Brian Masse is calling on people in his riding to nominate a worthy person for a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Pin. The pins are being offered to commemorate the Queen's 70th anniversary of her accession to the British throne.

"With nominations opening, these pins will be awarded to community members who have demonstrated service-above-self," said Masse in a media release. "This could be a health care worker, community leader, veteran, neighbour, educator or anyone who has made an impact in our community."

Those living in Windsor West who want to nominate a person deserving of a pin are asked to fill out the online nomination form, available on Masse's official website. The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 19.

People who have been chosen to receive a pin will be contacted in late summer or early fall for a special event, at which they will receive their pin and a citation.
