Two more city council incumbents running for re-election

The number of incumbents on Windsor City Council who intend to run for re-election has grown to four.

Ward 2's Fabio Costante and Gary Kaschak in Ward 8 have filed their nomination papers at Windsor City Hall.

Both are the lone candidates in their wards, but the deadline to file is still weeks away, on August 19.

Costante said he's proud of the progress in Ward 2 and plans to continue fighting slumlords and negligent property owners and securing funding for road improvements. He also cited the establishment of Gateway Park.

"We have achieved many great things together," he said in a release. "But, there is so much more work to do."

Two other incumbents have declared their intentions to run again in the October 24 Municipal Election.

In Ward 10, Jim Morrison remains the lone candidate, while Jeewan Gill in Ward 7 is running against three others, Greg Lemay, Angelo Marignani, and Sydney Brouillard-Coyle.

A fifth incumbent, Chris Holt in Ward 4, has launched a mayoral campaign. The other two candidates for mayor are Ernie "The Baconman" Lamont and Benjamin Danyluk.
