Leamington added to OLG Ontario Women's Championship

The OLG Ontario's Women's Championship stops at the Leamington Raceway this fall.

Five races will be on the race card, and the drivers will donate their earnings to Harness The Hope, a breast cancer charity with deep roots in the harness racing community.

The first annual OLG Ontario Women's Championship was held at just two tracks, the Dresden Raceway and the Hanover Raceway.

This year, it has grown with stops at three more raceways, Grand River Raceway, Leamington Raceway, and the Western Fair Raceway.

The event in Leamington is on September 25.

The final competition is at the Western Fair Raceway in London on October 14.

Nine riders are taking part, including last year's champion, Natasha Day. The other eight are Marie Claud Auger, Marielle Enberg, Pam Forgie, Samara Johnson, Maggie Jones, Debi O'Brien-Moran, Julie Walker, and Windsor native Brittany Kennedy.

The series got underway on Saturday in Hanover, and continued on Sunday in Dresden.
