River Ridge Park in Lakeshore reopens

River Ridge Park in Lakeshore is open again after the municipality completed $2.4-million in upgrades.

Mayor Tom Bain and members of Lakeshore's council cut the ribbon on Thursday morning.

The new amenities include a splash pad, washroom and change room facilities, shade structures, exercise equipment, pickleball courts, and landscaping.

"This park is the perfect addition to a growing area," said Bain. "It will serve as a gathering place for community members of all ages to enjoy the outdoors and cool off at the splash pad."

The expanded park on Oakwood Avenue is in one of the fastest-growing areas of Lakeshore. It is close to an Ontario Early Years Learning Centre and two schools, St. Anne Catholic Secondary School and Lakeshore Discovery Public School.

The park also includes a multi-use trail connected to the regional trail system and other parks in Lakeshore.
