Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor and Essex County.
Temperatures around 31 C are expected Monday and Tuesday with humidex values reaching into the low forties.
An overnight low temperature near 21 C is expected Monday night, providing little relief from the heat.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit advises residents to drink plenty of water, wear loose-fitting clothing, and limit outdoor activities to avoid heat-related illnesses. Young children, pregnant women, and older adults are more at risk of heat-related illnesses.
Hot and humid conditions are expected to come to an end on Tuesday night.
