Flights to new destinations start this week

Flair Airlines will start flying to Montreal and Halifax out of Windsor International Airport this week.

The airline announced the new routes at the airport in April.

"These are destinations that are new. Halifax is definitely new for the history of YQG so we're looking forward to it, I really want the community to embrace it," said Mark Galvin, CEO of Windsor International Airport.

Galvin said to date, there have not been significant delays at YQG like travellers have seen at Pearson International Airport in Toronto.  He said that is one of the benefits of flying out of a smaller airport.

"Our security is quick, CATSA [Canadian Air Transport Security Authority] does a great job here and travellers get through. The flights are spaced out so that we try not to have them stacked," said Galvin.

Flair Airlines will start travelling to Tucson, Arizona from Windsor in the fall.
