Spitfires sign LaSalle Viper to an OHL player agreement

The Windsor Spitfires continue to add to their upcoming roster.

The OHL club announced on Tuesday that it had signed centre Noah Morneau to an OHL Standard Player and Education Agreement. Morneau was the Spits' 15th-round pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection and played last season with Windsor's junior-B affiliate, the LaSalle Vipers.

Morneau, 18, is signing with his hometown club, standing 5' 11", and weighing 170 pounds.

"I feel pretty special to sign here,” said Morneau. “It is what I’ve always wanted since I got drafted here and since I went to games growing up."

Spitfires General Manager Bill Bowler said Morneau's ability to play multiple roles on the ice helped his cause for bringing him to the OHL.

"Morneau is a versatile forward that has earned a contract with our hockey club," said Bowler. "We have seen Noah develop through the Lasalle Vipers, and he deserves this opportunity."

Morneau scored 16 goals for 45 points with the Vipers last season.

This is the Spits' second signing of a prospect to an OHL player agreement. The team signed forward A.J. Spellacy, its most recent third-round pick, last week.
