Starting on Friday, patients at Windsor Regional Hospital will be allowed two essential caregivers at a time.
The hospital is loosening its visitor policy while at the same time ending its active screening program for those who come to see patients.
As of July 1, visitors will still be asked to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 and stay home if they have any. The medical masking mandate at the hospital will continue, and so will the face shield requirement.
Those who go may still be asked to provide proof of at least a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test.
COVID-19 patients who are on a ventilator will not be allowed to receive visitors, but those whose case is considered resolved can.
The hospital continues to offer virtual visiting options on an iPad or by phone.
Visiting hours are between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., except in critical care units. On those units, visitors may come between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
