Essex Community Concert Band returns to the stage

One of Windsor-Essex's most popular concert bands will take the stage again this weekend.

The Essex Community Concert Band, under the direction of conductor Dee Shaw, will perform its Sounds of Summer concert on Sunday.

The venue, which was outdoors, has been moved inside due to rain in the forecast on Sunday. The concert will take place at 2 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Parish on Talbot Street South in Essex.

The band consists of over 40 Windsor-Essex residents playing brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. It performs several times throughout the year.

Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings, with anyone playing an instrument invited to drop by.

Complete information about the band can be found on its official website.
