Art in the Park returns

Another event is back after a two-year hiatus, Art in the Park.

The weekend event is in Willistead Park and will feature more than 200 exhibitors from Ontario and Quebec. Those who go can also enjoy beer, wine, spirits and the choice of 15 food vendors.

Admission is $7 and free for children 12 and under.

"Much of our community doesn't know that Art in the Park is a fundraising event," said co-chair Allan Kidd. "The people who attend Art in the Park help us raise the funds to build schools, drill wells and deliver books, medicine and wheelchairs at home and around the world."

Over the past four decades, the Rotary Club of Windsor 198 has raised $1.3-million to restore Willistead Manor and $2-million to support local and global projects.

The event has had its share of rainouts. This weekend, Environment Canada predicts a sunny forecast for Saturday and only a small chance of showers on Sunday with temperatures in the low to mid-20s.
