ESHF pledges over $1M to Windsor-Essex health care

A hospital and an organization supporting end-of-life care are the latest beneficiaries of the Erie Shores Health Foundation (ESHF).

The ESHF celebrated its 30th anniversary by announcing on Monday its investment of a total of $1,093,165.48 into local health care initiatives.

Erie Shores HealthCare in Leamington will receive $804,976.78 of that money, which is made up of community donations made to purchase new medical equipment and fund the renovation of facilities.

"Their contributions allow us to invest in new healthcare technologies, ensuring Erie Shores HealthCare continues to provide quality patient care for years to come," said Erie Shores HealthCare CEO Kristin Kennedy in a media release.

Among the investments supported at Erie Shores HealthCare are a chemistry analyzer, ECG cart, laryngoscope video, gastroscopes, obstetric delivery carts, physiological monitors, and gastroscopes.

The rest of the money, $288,118.70, will go to The Hospice of Windsor-Essex County to help pay for the operating expenses of The Hospice's Leamington location. The funding is part of a long-term agreement between The Hospice and ESHF.

"On behalf of The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, I would like to thank the Erie Shores Health Foundation for being partners in supporting our patients and families," said The Hospice Executive Director Nancy Brockenshire.

Complete information about the foundation can be found on its official website.
