Essex County Library parts ways with CEO

When the Essex County Library Board meets next Wednesday, it will discuss hiring a new CEO and Chief Librarian.

Robin Greenall was suddenly dismissed from the post this past Tuesday.

When asked if allegations of workplace harassment were behind the dismissal, the chair and Kingsville Mayor Nelson Santos would only say, "the board has an obligation to review complaints regarding harassment and a toxic work environment."

"I can't comment beyond that," he said.

Right now, he said the library is going through a transition period, and Kristie Cronin has been appointed interim CEO and Chief Librarian.

WindsorNewsToday.ca reached out to CUPE Local 2974, which represents employees with the Essex County Library. The union would only confirm Greenall is no longer an employee of the County of Essex.

The library is a system with 14 branches across Essex County. It was established in 1966 by Essex County Council.
