Raid takes multiple drugs off Windsor streets

Two Windsor residents are facing multiple charges after an investigation resulted in a significant seizure of drugs.

The seizure was the result of a traffic stop on Tuesday. An officer from the Property Crimes Unit was in the area of Ouellette Avenue near Eugenie Street, and started to question the driver of a vehicle believed to be breaching a court order. The driver was arrested, along with the passenger, who also had an outstanding warrant.

Constable Talya Natyshak said that the ensuing investigation uncovered a variety of illegal drugs in the vehicle, including 180 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of crack cocaine, 63 grams of methamphetamine, 38 grams of fentanyl, 62 Percocet pills, and 10 hydromorph pills. The seizure also included an unspecified amount of money.

Both the 35-year-old man and the 32-year-old woman are charged with possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, Percocet, and hydromorph contin each with the intent to sell.

The man was additionally charged with failure to comply with a release order, and the woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

The charges have not been proven in court.
