The Windsor Police Service has a new online reporting system for that.
With the warmer weather on our doorstep, more people will be sleeping with their windows open, and vehicle noise will become a bigger problem.
Over the past few years, Windsor Police noticed an uptick in calls related to drivers revving their engines, driving without a muffler, squealing their tires, and playing their stereo excessively loud.
The City of Windsor and the Town of Amherstburg both have bylaws against excessive vehicle noise.
The new system is easy to use and will give users a case number to track their complaints and email them a copy of the report. The report is forwarded to the City of Windsor's bylaw enforcement officers for investigation.
In the past, 911 received many of those calls. The new system will take that pressure off the emergency line so dispatchers can focus on real emergencies.
Windsor Police are launching a new anti-noise campaign on Monday. It will run until September 5.
