Here's what's open and closed Easter weekend in Windsor-Essex

It's the long weekend, for either three or four days depending on where you work or go to school. With that, many businesses in Windsor-Essex will be closed or on abbreviated hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

All federal, provincial, and government offices will be closed on both days. There is no Canada Post delivery. Service Ontario locations will also be closed Friday and Monday, but some transactions may be performed online.

All four of the public school boards serving Windsor-Essex are closed both Friday and Monday, with classes resuming Tuesday. There are also no classes at the University of Windsor or St. Clair College on Friday, but both are open Monday as usual.

All branches of the Windsor Public Library are closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. On Saturday, only the Budimir, Central and Riverside branches will be open, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All Essex County Library branches will be closed Friday, Sunday, and Monday.

The LCBO shuts down on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but is open Saturday and Monday. The same goes for all Beer Store locations.

Devonshire Mall and Tecumseh Mall are both closed on Friday and Sunday, but open regular hours on Saturday and Monday. At Windsor Crossing outlet mall in LaSalle, stores are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and on Easter Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

The 311 call centre will shut down Friday and Monday, and reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 211 call centre will be open 24-hours as usual.

In the City of Windsor, residential garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Friday or Monday. Rubbish collection will be delayed by one day next week. Refer to your waste collection calendar for details. For commercial, front-end loader, and weekly recycling collections will proceed as usual.

The public drop-off and household chemical waste depot at Central Avenue and the E.C. Row are closed Friday, Sunday, and Monday, but are open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All community centres and arenas in Windsor are closed Friday and Sunday, with the exception of the H4 program at Windsor Water World, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Facilities will be open on Monday with the exception of the Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex.

The Francois Baby House will be closed all weekend and reopen on Tuesday. The Chimczuk Museum will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday, but will be open regular hours on Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park remains closed indefinitely due to COVID-19 control protocols.

There will be no charge for street metered parking in Windsor on Friday, Sunday, and Monday, but the city’s paid surface lots and garages will be open and charging as usual. Municipal ticket payment offices will be closed all three days.

Transit Windsor buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Friday, and on a Saturday schedule on Monday. The downtown transit terminal will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Good Friday, while the sales office on North Service Road is closed. Both will operate as usual on Monday.
