UPDATE: Five people shot outside of Windsor bowling alley

Windsor police say a suspect wanted for a shooting early Saturday morning is considered armed and dangerous.

Around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a large group of people fighting at a bowling alley on Tecumseh Road near Forest Glade Drive.

Police said as officers were on their way, it was reported that shots were fired and there were multiple victims.

"It is believed there were approximately 20 to 25 people in the area when the shots were fired," police said in a release.

Police said officers were quick to assess the injured parties and assist with first-aid until EMS arrived on the scene. All five victims were adult males and were treated at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"It is believed to be a targeted incident stemming from a fight that occurred inside the bowling alley earlier in the night, however at least one of the persons shot was a bystander leaving the bowling alley, having no involvement in the earlier altercation," said police.

Investigators said the suspect is believed to be one shooter who fled the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle is described as a four-door, mid-sized SUV pickup truck, light-coloured, and is similar to an Explorer Sport TRAC.

The truck is believed to have travelled south on Forest Glade Drive, west onto Ridge Road, and south onto Esplanade Drive.

Investigators are looking to identify any suspects involved.

The Major Crime Unit is actively investigating this incident and is asking anyone in the area with surveillance cameras to check their footage for possible evidence.

Police said they are specifically looking at the time frame of 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
