Health Canada issues warning about children's bathrobe bought online

There is a warning for parents and caregivers who bought a children's bathrobe online. Health Canada says it could easily catch fire.

The Vertbaudet Hearts children's bathrobe, which is pink with white hearts, doesn't meet Canada's safety requirements.

Health Canada does not know how many were sold to Canadian consumers. Canada has no control over the quality of goods made and sold outside its borders.

"Loose-fitting children's sleepwear can come in contact with flammable sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear," read a notice from the agency. "Once the sleepwear has caught fire, it may burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to areas of a child's body."

So far, Health Canada has received no reports of injuries but advises parents and caregivers to dispose of the bathrobe.
