Windsor Regional Hospital reports 27 COVID-19 cases

A local hospital now has six floors under COVID-19 outbreak protocols, and 27 patients are affected.

Windsor Regional Hospital reported Friday afternoon that three units apiece at the Met and Ouellette campuses are in an outbreak.

At the Met Campus, the units are 4-West, 7-North, and 8-North. Over at Ouellette, the units are 2-North, 6-East, and 7-West.

It was not disclosed how many positive patients came from each unit. Patients are still being admitted to all hospital units.

The hospital continues to recommend that any patient who has been discharged from any of these units self-monitor for ten days. All patients are tested for the virus when they are admitted and afterwards, whether they have symptoms or not.

Complete information on the hospital's COVID-19 situation can be found on its official website.
