Call is out for summer student jobs in Leamington

Are you a high-school, college, or university student looking for summer work? The Municipality of Leamington may be able to help.

It may be cold out this week, but the municipality has put out the call for summer employment applications. Human resources staff could be looking at a larger pool than usual, for this year, hiring will not be limited to Leamington residents, and there is no jobs lottery.

Students can choose from over a dozen seasonal positions. A complete listing of such jobs, with a deadline of February 28, can be found on the Careers page of the official Leamington website.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and be enrolled full-time at a secondary school, college, or university. You must be able to legally work in Canada and be returning to school for full-time study in fall 2022.

The program requires applications for both first-time applicants and those who have worked for the municipality during previous summers.

Job-seekers must provide proof-of-enrollment from either the school office, or the college or university registrar. Applications submitted without this information will not be considered. Class schedules and tuition payment receipts do not count as proof of enrollment.

Students should apply to each position in which they have an interest. Applicants may find it helpful to apply for multiple jobs, as applying for just one position will not make them eligible for any other openings.

Evening and weekend work is required, and students must be available to work scheduled hours.

The application deadline is February 28. Candidates apply on the Municipality website. While the Municipality thanks in advance all those who apply, only those chosen for interviews will be contacted.
