Allegedly impaired driver clocked at twice the speed limit

A 35-year-old McGregor man faces charges for stunt driving and impaired driving after a traffic stop early Friday morning in Tecumseh.

The Ontario Provincial Police clocked a vehicle going twice the speed limit on County Road 22 in Tecumseh.

The speed limit there is 80 km/h, but the vehicle was going 170 km/h.

When the officer pulled the driver over, it was apparent he had been drinking.

The driver was issued a three-day driver's licence suspension for impaired driving and a 30-day suspension for speeding. His vehicle is impounded for the next two weeks.
