Three face drug charges after Windsor traffic stop

Three men face drug and weapon charges after an early morning traffic stop in Windsor.

Around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, a Windsor patrol officer spotted a vehicle travelling southbound on Howard Avenue and determined that the licence plates on the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The vehicle was stopped on Howard Avenue near Erie Street East, and the three male occupants were all arrested and charged with possession of stolen property under $5000.

Constable Darius Goze said the vehicle was then searched, and officers seized 20.8 grams of fentanyl, 26.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a switchblade knife, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

All three men, aged 36, 38, and 50, were additionally charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to sell and possession of a dangerous weapon. Also, the 36-year-old and 50-year-old suspects were charged with failure to comply with a release order. The 50-year-old also faces five counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited.

The charges have not been proven in court.
