Vehicles sought in Belle River break-in, assault (PHOTOS)

Ontario Provincial Police have provided more information concerning a break-and-enter Sunday night in Lakeshore.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday at a home on County Road 22 between Right Away Lane and Alexander Avenue. Police say two people entered, assaulted the sole occupant, and took off with an assortment of items, including firearms and cash.

Investigators have released photos of two vehicles seen in the area at the time of the incident, which were a black two-door sports car, and a dark-coloured SUV. Police would like to speak to the drivers of the vehicles as they could be witnesses to what happened.

There is no threat to public safety. However, the OPP is reminding people to be vigilant when anyone they don't know appears on their property.

If you live in the area and have a security camera system, you are asked to check it between 10:45 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Sunday and give police a call if you see something unusual.
