Suspect wanted in Windsor restaurant robbery

Windsor police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of a restaurant hold-up last week.

It happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on Erie Street East near Goyeau Street. Officers responded to a call about a robbery at a restaurant. The suspect entered, announced he had a weapon, and demanded money.

No weapon was readily seen, and when the suspect's demands were not met, he ran north on Windsor Avenue empty-handed.

Surveillance camera photos were released by investigators, who have asked the public to take a look.

The suspect is described as a Black male, around 40-years-old, wearing black clothing and a black jacket with a fur collar.

Anyone along Erie Street East between Goyeau Street and Windsor Avenue, and Windsor Avenue north of Erie Street, is asked to check any security camera footage and give them a call if they see anything unusual.
