Four drivers charged with impaired driving

Essex County Ontario Provincial Police charged four drivers over the weekend with alcohol-related offences.

Around 6:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on County Road 14 in Leamington. After an investigation, a 29-year-old driver from Kingsville was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and alcohol. He was also charged with operation while impaired with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

Later that morning, officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on the 9th Concession in Essex. A 28-year-old from Harrow was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, and operating while impaired.

Early Sunday morning, officers in Lakeshore responded to a single-vehicle crash on County Road 22. A 22-year-old is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and alcohol, and operating while impaired.

On Monday morning, Leamington OPP was alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Talbot Road East. The van driver was located inside the vehicle. A 23-year-old from Leamington is facing charges of operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and alcohol, operating while impaired, and possession of cocaine.

The OPP is reminding residents to report any driver they suspect of being impaired.
