A police investigation is underway following an overnight incident at the Lexington Hotel in Windsor.
Windsor police along with the forensics unit were seen responding to the hotel at Division and Walker Road Sunday morning.
Rick Loiselle and his wife Carole were staying at the hotel Saturday night when they were woken up around 1:40 a.m. to the police banging on their hotel room door.
"The officer apologized for disturbing us but there had been a shooting in the building," said Loiselle. "I didn't hear anything but Carol thought she heard four loud pops sometime between 11:30 a.m. and midnight."
Loiselle said when he woke up this morning the far end of the floor he was staying on was taped off and an officer was standing guard.
"Officers were there in white suits doing what they do," said Loiselle. "Several police vehicles were outside of the hotel blocking off the area."
