The Municipality of Leamington is holding the second Reinvent This Space competition this year.

Entrepreneurs are invited to submit a brief video pitch outlining their business ideas for an uptown Leamington location.

Panelists of local business leaders will review proposals and select a shortlist of finalists.

“Reinvent This Space is all about taking ideas and dreams and transitioning to a real business,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “This year, we’re excited to be able to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with the expertise and support of our partners at Invest WindsorEssex’s Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre.”

The finalists will receive in-depth training and support from the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre to help develop their business plans.

The finalists will then make a final pitch to the panelists. The winner will be awarded a grant of up to $15,000 for rent for a vacant storefront in uptown Leamington for up to one year.

Applications will be accepted on the competition’s website until December 31, 2021. The finalists will be announced in January.
