Two teens killed in single-vehicle crash

Police continue to investigate a single-vehicle collision that killed two teens and injured two others.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday, the Windsor Police Service was called to the area of Wyandotte Street West and Rankin Avenue after a car struck a hydro pole.

The Honda Civic had substantial damage and four people were injured. The driver, a 17-year-old male from Windsor was pronounced deceased on the scene. Another 17-year-old was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  Two other passengers, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Constable Talya Natyshak said investigators believe the vehicle was speeding and went out of control before striking the hydro pole.

Investigators are asking anyone in the area who may have captured video of the vehicle through surveillance cameras to check their footage and contact the police with any evidence. Specifically, anyone with cameras on Wyandotte Street West from approximately Crawford Avenue to Rankin Avenue and any side streets in the area, are requested to review footage.
