UPDATE: Person arrested in connection to explosion at WAP

The Windsor Police Service has confirmed a man has been arrested in relation to the explosion at the Windsor Assembly Plant earlier this month.

On Wednesday morning, police were in the area of Drouillard Road between Milloy Street and Alice Street in relation to the investigation.  Members of the Emergency Service Unit arrested the suspect without incident.

On November 4, police were called to the Windsor Assembly Plant on Chrysler Centre Drive after an explosion was set off in a storage area of the facility. No one was injured.

The 33-year-old Windsor man is charged with causing an explosion with a disregard for human life, intending to cause explosion likely to cause bodily harm or death and intending to cause an explosion likely to cause serious damage to property.

The Major Crime Unit is actively investigating this incident and seeking any information that may assist in the investigation.
