The town of LaSalle is getting into the holiday lights game.

The municipality will hold its first-ever Holiday Lights Heritage Nights on the grounds of the LaSalle Civic Centre, running from November 26, 2021, to January 9, 2022. The lights will be on nightly beginning at 6:00.

“We are looking forward to showcasing the LaSalle Civic Centre for the holidays with an outdoor light display,” said Mayor Marc Bondy in a media release. “This annual outdoor event will bring the holidays to life in LaSalle as we celebrate the magic of the season.”

The display will feature a walk-through holiday sound and light experience, including a 40-foot-tall walk-through Christmas tree.

Special themed evenings will take place on weekends throughout the duration of the display, with Food Truck Fridays, Sounds of the Season Saturdays, and Sunday Night Markets. The themed weekend evenings will also feature Santa Claus.

LaSalle Culture and Recreation Manager Scott Bisson said the event is designed to bring people together to celebrate the holidays in a safe, family-friendly environment.

“This event complements our strong community activities as we extend them into the shoulder season of the fall and into the winter,” said Bisson. “We are welcoming the community and visitors back to our events in a safe manner.”

COVID-19 safety protocols regarding physical distancing and mask use will apply. For those attending Sunday Night Markets, proof of vaccination will be required as that event will be held inside the Civic Centre.

In addition to the lights display, the Town will also support local businesses with a Very Merry Hunt for Berry, giving visitors a chance to search for Berry the Elf, who has gotten lost in LaSalle.

Details on the elf hunt and the holiday lights will come out in mid-November. Complete information can be found on theĀ Town of LaSalle’s official website.
