Where to commemorate Remembrance Day in Windsor-Essex

There are a lot of places to remember the sacrifice of local veterans in Windsor-Essex.

WindsorNewsToday.ca has compiled a complete list of all the ceremonies and their locations.

At all in-person remembrances, the public is asked to social distance and wear a face mask.

Remembrance Day commemorations start early in Tecumseh. On Saturday, there will be a ceremony at the Tecumseh Cenotaph at Town Hall on Lesperance Road, beginning at 11 a.m. On Sunday, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 594 at 5030 Howard Avenue in Oldcastle will honour veterans.

The rest of the commemorations are on Thursday.

In Amherstburg, the public can gather at the cenotaph in King's Navy Yard Park starting at 10:30 a.m.

LaSalle is holding its ceremonies at LaSalle Cenotaph Park starting at 11 a.m.

The Kingsville ceremony is at 11 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 188.

Residents can gather at the Leamington Cenotaph in Dieppe Park on Princess Street between Mill Street East and Orange Street at 11 a.m.

The Municipality of Lakeshore has two locations where veterans will be commemorated. At 10:45 a.m., the ceremony will start at the cenotaph at 506 Notre Dame Street in Belle River. At the same time, residents in Comber can gather at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 241 at 6420 Main Street.

There are two ceremonies in Essex as well. Both start at 11 a.m., at the Essex Cenotaph at 53 Talbot Street South, and in Harrow at Veterans Memorial Park at 28 King Street West.

Windsor will cap off a week of remembrance with a ceremony at the Downtown Cenotaph starting at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be broadcast on the City of Windsor's Facebook page for those who do not wish to attend in person and rebroadcast on YourTV at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
