Classes sent home from St. Joseph's Catholic High and Tecumseh Vista

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has sent two classes at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Windsor home after a case of COVID-19 was confirmed there.

The school board said the case was confirmed over the weekend. Students who are impacted have been told not to attend school on Monday. Officials from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will let them know when they can attend again.

A voice message was also sent out to notify the entire school community.

The entire student body at St. Joseph's was sent home earlier this school year because of an outbreak of COVID-19, but the school is open now.

The school board reports 18 active cases now, six of which are at St. Anne Catholic Elementary School.

The Greater Essex County District School Board has had 89 confirmed cases at its schools since the start of the school year.

A new case at Tecumseh Vista Elementary School in Tecumseh was confirmed on Friday.
