Proof of vaccine QR code available for download

Ontario residents can start downloading their proof of COVID-19 vaccination QR codes as of Friday.

Depending on your date of birth, residents who are fully vaccinated can download the QR code over the next three days.

Those born between January 1 and April 30 can download the code as of Friday. For those with birthdays between May 1 and August 31, the code will be available on Saturday. Those between September 1 and December 31 can do it on Sunday.

As of Monday, October 18 at 6 a.m., any Ontario resident who has had both shots can access the code.

“I want to thank every Ontarian for their patience and cooperation as we’ve implemented our proof of vaccination policy,” said Premier Doug Ford. “The enhanced vaccine certificates and Verify Ontario app will give our businesses further comfort in their ability to operate safely as we take further steps to protect people’s privacy. These certificates remain a key element of our plan to protect the gains we have made while avoiding future lockdowns.”

If you do not have a cellphone, the province can email or mail an enhanced vaccine certificate. The Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre can be reached at 1-833-943-3900.

The newly enhanced system goes into effect by next Friday, October 22. However, the current vaccine receipt without a QR code remains valid and will continue to be accepted.

You can find the link to download the QR code by clicking here.
