Property crimes unit kept busy Sunday night

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a series of break and enter incidents that happened between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Investigators are looking for connections between six incidents that happened between 11 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday.

A suspect has been arrested in relation to one of the investigations. However, police are releasing few details at this time.

Anyone with security camera footage from the areas around these incidents is asked to review their footage for possible evidence.

Police responded to a break-in in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Aubin Road around 11 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived they found a broken window at one of the businesses. Patrol and K9 officers searched the area but did not local at suspects.

The second incident happened just east of there on Tecumseh Road East near Lauzon Parkway around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Investigators determined two suspect stole several items from the business before taking off in a dark coloured vehicle. One of the suspects is described as possibly male with a slim to athletic build and the other is possibly female with a slim build.

The third break-in happened on Legacy Park Drive just off of Walker Road around 1 a.m. Police also found a damaged window at this location. The suspect or suspects took off before police arrived.

Another break-in happened around 1 a.m. on Walker Road around Calderwood Avenue. When officers arrived at the business they found a shattered window and the rear door ajar. Officers cleared the scene and the K9 unit searched the area but did not locate anyone. Investigators learned a dark coloured vehicle was seen leaving the scene before police arrived.

Around 1:30 a.m. police were called to Lauzon Road near Riverside Drive for trouble unknown. As they arrived, a dark coloured vehicle was speeding away from the scene. Police found two commercial businesses that were broken into at this location. Patrol and K9 searched the area but did not find the suspect(s).

Finally, around 5:30 a.m. patrol officer responded to a break and enter on Tecumseh Road east near Moy Avenue. The suspect fled before police arrived. Police got a description of the suspect and he was located in the area of Tecumseh Road and Hall.

A 34-year-old was arrested. Police found items related to the break and enter on the man. He was charged with break and enter, possessing property obtained by crime, and having a break-in instrument.
