St. Joseph's to host COVID-19 testing clinic

Students dismissed this week from a Windsor high school will have an opportunity to get a COVID-19 test Friday.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will hold a testing clinic in the gymnasium of St. Joseph's Catholic High School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic is for any students and staff at the school who were dismissed on Wednesday due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Anyone wanting to participate in the clinic is asked to bring their health card, along with the outbreak letter that was issued Wednesday by the health unit.

St. Joseph's Catholic High School is the only school in Windsor-Essex that has been closed completely due to an outbreak of the virus. Students are attending classes remotely until the health unit gives the all-clear.

When classes were dismissed Wednesday, there were five reported COVID-19 cases, and the health unit reported up to 200 potential close contacts. As of Thursday night, there were three positive student cases and one staff case.
