Calling all female entrepreneurs

Workforce WindsorEssex wants to hear from female entrepreneurs in the region, so it's launched a new survey.

It wants to know what government programs they use, what they need, and how service providers can better support them.

"Hearing from female entrepreneurs, whether they have recently created a start-up or have been operating their business for decades, will ensure local business-supporting organizations have up-to-date information on how they can serve their clients best and offer the most in-demand services," said Manager of Projects and Research, Tashlyn Teskey.

The information will be used in the agency's annual RISE Needs Assessment report. It provides an overview of the challenges faced by women in entrepreneurial careers and offers recommendations to improve the local services.

RISE is a network of organizations working to increase the number of female entrepreneurs locally after Windsor was named the worst city in Canada for women in 2017.

Those who take part in the survey will be entered for a chance to win prizes from businesses owned by women in Windsor-Essex.
