Two Toronto-area suspects arrested on Windsor drug charges

Windsor police say an investigation has led to the arrests of two people from the Toronto area on drug trafficking charges.

The Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) began an investigation earlier this month into the illicit drug trade in Windsor. The probe identified two men, a vehicle, and a guest room at a motel on Howard Avenue. On Tuesday, investigators obtained a warrant to search that room and the suspect vehicle.

Constable Darius Goze said at around 1 p.m., the suspects were found a few blocks south on Howard Avenue and arrested without incident.

A search of the motel room and vehicle uncovered an unspecified quantity of illicit drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine. Currency was also confiscated.

A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Ajax, are each charged with possession of crystal meth, cocaine, and fentanyl with intent to sell. These charges have yet to be proven in court.

Anyone with additional information on this investigation should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4361 or ext. 4000 after-hours. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
