The third annual golfing fundraiser for the Can-Am Police-Fire Games is already sold out.
Roseland Golf and Curling Club will host 160 golfers on September 24 who will raise money for the 2022 games.
"We've heard time and again from corporations, businesses, and individuals that showing their support for our first responders is the least they can do," said Games General Manager Michael Chantler. "People know how difficult COVID has been on all of us, but especially on those in the emergency services."
The six-day Can-Am Police-Fire Games is held every two years in either Canada or the U.S featuring several sporting events ranging from softball to the Toughest Firefighter Alive competition.
Next year, they will be in Windsor from July 25 to July 31, 2022.
Up to 1,000 competitors and their spouses regularly attend. As of 2018, the spouses and children of eligible athletes are also allowed to compete.
The games started in 1977 when police and fire athletes from Washington State and Oregon competed with a police-fire sports group from Western Canada.
In 1996, the group hosting the games reorganized and presented the North American competition.
Host cities are selected through a bidding process five years in advance of the event.
