U of W to host pop-up vaccination clinic Friday

The University of Windsor will be helping people who haven't received a COVID-19 shot get one.

U of W will host an on-campus vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. It's one of the pop-up clinics run by the Windsor-Essex Community and Stabilization Team.

The clinic will provide first and second doses of mRNA vaccines to anyone age 12 and older. The clinic is free of charge, and a health card is not necessary. Language support, free onsite parking, and refreshments will be available.

"This is an important initiative, and we are inviting everyone to attend, not only members of the University of Windsor community but anyone who has not yet been fully vaccinated," said U of W President and Vice-Chancellor Robert Gordon. "We know that vaccination is our only option in fighting COVID and it's vital that as many people as possible get their jab."

The university, while currently not requiring students or staff to be vaccinated, is in the midst of a community awareness campaign called Take A Jab, to encourage students who have not received a vaccine to do so.

The U of W clinic will be in the Faculty of Education parking lot, located off California Avenue and University Avenue West.

Another clinic is scheduled for Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Housing Homelessness and Health Hub (H4), at the Windsor Water World.
