Two charged in drug and weapon seizure

Windsor police have arrested two people after an early-morning traffic stop led to drugs and weapons being confiscated.

Around 4 a.m. Friday, officers stopped a beige Trail Blazer on Ouellette Avenue near Elliott Street for not having a validation sticker on its licence plate. Officers discovered that the licence plate did not belong on that vehicle.

It was also determined that the male driver was violating a court-ordered curfew. A second man was soon found in the area with a knife, and also breaching a court order. Both were arrested without incident.

An unspecified amount of illicit drugs was found inside the vehicle and seized.

Both men, a 38-year-old and a 52-year-old from Windsor, are each charged with possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl for selling, and failure to comply with a court order. The 52-year-old suspect was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

These charges have not been proven in court.
