St. Clair College resuming in-person classes

St. Clair College will be offering in-person classes for the fall semester.

Colleges and Universities will be allowed to fully reopen following federal and provincial health regulations.

During the 2020/2021 school year, the college has been operating a hybrid model. It offered most of its lectures online while allowing on-campus attendance for essential labs, workshops, and clinics.

“During that past almost year-and-a-half, we did what we had to do. Now, we can joyfully return to doing what we want to do: namely, to teach and provide a host of services to students in face-to-face fashion, coupled with celebrating a social atmosphere of fun and friendship in the College’s non-academic activities,” said St. Clair College president Patti France.

The college will maintain a mandatory mask policy in the fall and encourage social distancing where possible.  Students will not be required to be vaccinated when classes resume, however France is encouraging it.

"It is certainly the college’s desire that all students will receive such inoculations – for your own well-being, and that of your family, friends and fellow students. Please, keep yourself healthy, and realize that we each have a role to play in keeping our campus community healthy,” said France.

Around 16 programs will continue to be offered online because a large portion of the student enrollment is international students. These programs include Mechanical Engineering Technician, Event Management and some business courses. A full list of programs that will continue online can be found here.
