Humane Society offering microchip clinic

The Windsor Essex County Humane Society is hosting its first-ever choose your own price drive-thru microchip clinic.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Devonshire Mall parking lot.

“Given the challenges over the past year, we at WECHS are thrilled to have found a creative and safe way to offer pet owners in our community an accessible opportunity to have their pets microchipped at a price they can afford. We are passionate about pet reunification and are hopeful this community service event will allow us to safely microchip as many pets as possible in Windsor/Essex,” said Director of Shelter Medicine Dr. Kayla Beetham.

Microchips are used to help identify pets if they are lost and brought to the humane society. It's a small electronic chip, the size of a grain of rice, implanted just under the skin of your pet.

The clinic is for owners of dogs, cats, or rabbits. The event will be completely socially distanced. Vehicles will be received on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment necessary.
