ESHC loosening visitor restrictions

If you have someone who's a patient at Erie Shores Healthcare, it will soon be easier for you to visit them.

The hospital in Leamington has loosened visitor restrictions, with two visitors now being allowed to see a patient each day. The visitors can attend at the same time.

Special consideration will continue to be given for one visitor who is seeing a patient who is in labour, a COVID-19-negative patient in the emergency department, the parent or guardian of an ill newborn, child, or youth; or a support person for a patient with dementia or cognitive impairment subject to management approval.

Restrictions will stay in place, however, for those being treated in the ICU, or for confirmed COVID-19 patients.

Visitors who have tested positive for COVID-19, have symptoms, travelled out of Canada in the last 14 days, had close contact with a positive person, or should be self-isolating will not be allowed to visit.

People under the age of 18 are also restricted from visiting.
