UPDATE: Tornado warning, severe thunderstorm warning ended
July 8, 2021 4:06pm
Environment Canada has ended all weather warnings and statements for Windsor-Essex.
Thursday proved to be another day of turbulent weather for the region with severe thunderstorm watches and warnings issued on and off throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a tornado warning was briefly issued, but the alert was called off less than an hour later. Environment Canada has not yet confirmed where, or if a tornado(s) touched down in the area.
By mid-Thursday evening, all weather statements had been called off.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing large hail, damaging winds and/or torrential rainfall.
