Two charged for possession of illegal weapons

The Windsor Police Service Drugs and Guns Unit arrested and charged two people with a number of weapons-related charges.

According to a release by the Windsor police, during the course of an investigation into illegal firearms, officers identified the two suspects and a residence.

On Wednesday night, police searched a home on Pierre Avenue between Chatham Street and University Avenue. The two suspects were arrested without incident.

Officers seized illegal firearms, ammunition, prohibited magazines, and a homemade silencer.

Blake Carter, 24, is charged with multiple counts of possession of an illegal firearm, possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of ammunition, altering a serial number on a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order.

A 27-year-one woman from Windsor is also charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, careless storage of ammunition, altering a serial number on a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order. Police did not release the name of this individual.
