Windsor police investigating arson

Windsor police are investigating after a van was deliberately set on fire in the Walkerville area early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the area of Richmond Street and Pierre Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Officers found a white Chevrolet utility van engulfed in flames.

The fire was put out by emergency crews. The vehicle was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.

The Windsor Police Arson Unit determined the fire was deliberately set.

Investigators are asking businesses and residents in the area with surveillance cameras to check their footage for suspicious activity or vehicles between 2:30 a.m. and 3;15 a.m. Wednesday.
